Africa CEO Roundtable: West Prop boss Ken Sharpe shares nuggets on real estate, reveals one billion bricks target

Vic Falls- WEST Property chief executive Ken Sharpe delivered an outstanding presentation and shared nuggets on real estate investment at the ongoing Africa CEO’s Roundtable in Vic Falls Thursday, Express Mail Zim can report.

The event is a high level platform for Corporate Chief Executive Officers and Senior Executives, in Both Private and Public Sector, created to engender cross fertilisation of critical economic and business knowledge.

Sharpe represents arguably one of the biggest property development companies in the country sitting on over 500 hectares of prime land.

The Havard trained businessman advised fellow chief executives that patriotism must be a virtue in business and development of the country.

“When a man has done what he considers to be his duty to his people
and his country, he can Rest In Peace , ” he said.

He said his vision is to take the property industry to dizzy heights and he showered praises on the citizens as the major asset of national development apart from the flora and fauna.

“You see it’s not the natural resources or beauty that our
country has on offer but rather the people that are its greatest asset.
“That’s why the future of property in Zimbabwe is all about the IP and
human capital and not the financial capital we think is so important.
“We have to look at investment in smart cities powered by tech and people
who can create the IP of the future. We can work together to make this
dream a reality and we all have a part to play.

“I believe that I am building a company that will be a multi-generational
business and able to leave a lasting legacy of giving home ownership and
creating jobs and investment for all Zimbabweans,” said Sharpe.

He visualized what he wanted to create and urged corporate chiefs to believe in themselves.

“We must believe in ourselves, having
confidence, being positive, achieving the impossible, ” advised Sharpe.

Under the mantra ‘Bringing Dubai to Zimbabwe’, Sharpe is targeting one billion bricks by 2050 with view of creating one stop shop communities.

“We are building neighbourhoods where people can live, work, play and shop in.

” We are bringing completeness, self-sustaining neighbourhoods and safe communities for women and children.  “Neighbourhoods with indoor sports facilities, workstations, shopping malls, internet connectivity and green energy in the form of solar energy and above all a lifetime experience to live in style,” he said

He made emphasis that his mission is in sync with the National Development Strategy 1 (NDS1) where housing delivery is one of the 14 priority areas largely expected to spur the nation towards the attainment of vision 2030.

“We have also bought into that vision hence our developments.

“West Property has bought into His Excellency vision of Nyika Inovakwa Nevana Vayo (literally meaning Zimbabweans will build Zimbabwe).
”  We are a Zimbabwean company that is interested in growing the local economy and to promote brand Zimbabwe, attract tourists and make Zimbabwe the ideal investment destination, ” he said.

To date the company has built Mbudzi Complex which has created employment, Pokugara and on the verge of commencing construction of Pomona City and Warren Hills Estate among other premium lifestyle communities comprising of high rising buildings and shopping malls.
