ZIFA under-fire for misappropriation of U15 team travel funds

Better Brands donated 50 air tickets but the team travelled by road

Harare -ZIMBABWE Football Association (ZIFA) is under fire for embezzlement of funds meant for U15 teams” travel fares to the CAF Schools Championships in Walvis Bay,Namibia.

Express Mail Zim has it on good authority that the team got sponsorship from Zanu PF legislator Scott Sakupwanya’s Better Brands as stated in the ZIFA activity report presented at the AGM last week.

Road Trip: The bus that the young athletes used to travel

Better Brands provided funds for 50 air tickets but the team travelled by road and left Harare at 19.00hrs for the 52-hour long trip.

“We need accountability and explanation from authorities including NAPH and NASH to protect protection and well being of youth athletes,”lamented a sports critic.

Efforts to get in touch with Kudzi Chitima who is responsible for developmental football was not reachable at the time of writing.

Lynda Greef ,COSAFA representative lamented over lack of access of ablution facilities to the young athletes.
