Zanu PF internal conflicts worsen ahead of elections

Sanyati- THE internal strife within the ruling party has reached fever pitch with aspiring candidates using every trick in the book to de- campaign rivals

Investigations by this publication established that Mashonaland West and Mashonaland Central are the worst affected provinces.

In Mash Central there is an alleged campaign by former Cottco boss Maxmore Njanji who sources say is using his financial muscle to elbow out rivals.

He allegedly held a unsanctioned rally recently .

Njanji could not be reached for comment.

“Njanji is using proceeds from his Cottco shenanigans to lure votes.

“He has a fleet of trucks that he uses to transport goodies to the constituents,” said a source who preffered anonymity.

In Mash West, sources say former Sanyati legislator Blessed “Bombshell” Geza is eyeing a comeback after he was walloped by Deputy mines minister Polite Kambamura who is the current legislator for Sanyati.

Top lawyer Thembi Magwaliba is also said to be interested and has been distributing goodies in Sanyati.

“There is a spirited campaign to de-campaign the sitting MP (Kambamura) ahead of the 2023 elections.

“Geza and Magwaliba have been burning midnight candles placing defamatory stories in a bid to tarnish his image,” said our impeccable source.

The two are also alleged to have paid some rogue police officers at Sanyati Police Station to bad mouth the deputy minister.

The police officers in question came up with a dossier alleging that Kambamura caused the transfer of police officers who are not sympathetic to his election bid.

Police national spokesperson Paul Nyathi said it was a lie that Kambamura caused the transfer of police officers at Sanyati Police Station.

“When transferring police officers, we look at experience and skills. We are a big institution and some of the police officers would have acquired certain skills that will be needed at a different post. We also look at experience so that they can mentor other police officers, as far as I am concerned, the transfer of police officers at Sanyati Police Station was done overboard,” he said.

It has also emerged that Kambamura was not facing arrest as alleged by a story in one of the private newspapers.

“As far as I know there is no any warranty of arrest of honourable Kambamura. Maybe the communication has not reached the headquarters,” said Nyathi.

Kambamura beat Gezi in 2018 primary elections and up until now Gezi is still bitter .

Both Gezi and Kambamura could not be reached for comment at the time of writing, so was Magwaliba.
