Zanu PF fires shots at Sadc observer mission, say Mumba is ignorant of revolutionary history

Harare- ZANU PF has punched back at regional body SADC head of mission Nevers Mumba who trashed the harmonised elections citing several irregularities that are a negation of tenets enshrined in the Zimbabwe constitution,Express Mail Zim can report.

Zanu PF national spokesperson Chris Mutsvangwa came out guns blazing Friday, with shots aimed at Mumba and said he is ignorant of the revolutionary parties history in SADC and the brotherhood existing thereof.

“Our original training came from Zambia and Tanzania

“Mr Mumba should go and read the history of this country. Its not your duty to be a constitutional making body of Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe is a sovereign state and can’t be challenged by those who habour Western interests. The Zimbabwe state is sacrosanct and we fear no state,”said Mutsvangwa using his signature verbosity.

Mumba, a clergyman, was in the Zambian presidium and is technically a ‘proxy’ of president Haikende Hachilema who grabbed the levers of power after defeating a revolutionary party – in a feat that shook the region.
Interestingly, opposition leader Nelson Chamisa is also a clergyman – giving them a common religious denominator with Mumba!

Mutsvangwa’s outburst was in response to observers who noted concern on the Zimbabwe Electoral Commission’s delays in delivering ballots to polling stations, which has seen voting starting late at multiple polling stations.

ZEC blames “numerous court challenges” for delays in printing ballots, saying voters will be allowed to vote.

“We are concerned about that. The ballot papers should have been here way ahead time. That is the constitutional provision of Zimbabwe,” Mumba said.
