Mataga was convicted of raping his biological daughter and sister, sentenced to four years in prison, in suspected ritual practisces.

When Mnangagwa’s chief strategist, July Moyo, returned to the country’s political top-table after a decade-long forced sabbatical, he cherry picked Joram Gumbo, Ben Mataga and Godwill Shiri and roped them into central commitee to consolidate the Midlands province hegemony.

The late Mataga was outspoken and he decampaigned the late former Zimbabwe Broadcasting Services (ZBC) chief executive Alum Mpofu and exposed homosexual activities before he was caught pants down with ZBC radio presenter Kelvin Ncube at Tipperarry night club toilet.

Ncube is now based in the United Kingdom and is now a transgender.

“To acclaim a national hero status,Zanu PF does not tolerate inconstencies in your loyalty and moralilty.

“In any case, Mataga was very corrupt,at one time he took a flock of beasts meant for donation when he was member of parliament and he lied that he was part of the liberation struggle yet he was a teacher,”said our impeccable source in Midlands.
