Zanu PF activist Zvomuya defies court, plots fresh violence amidst mine grab
Fresh from securing bail after being implicated in a violent attack on Element Minerals Mine that left 46 people injured, Zvomuya, together with his accomplices, including known criminals, has already hatched a plot to defy the government's directive to vacate the mine.
Shamva-IN a brazen defiance of a court order, an alleged notorious ZANU PF activist and alleged mine grabber, Josphat Zvomuya, has vowed to continue his reign of terror in Mashonaland Central province.
Fresh from securing bail after being implicated in a violent attack on Element Minerals Mine that left 46 people injured, Zvomuya, together with his accomplices, including known criminals, has already hatched a plot to defy the government’s directive to vacate the mine.
A clandestine meeting held at Shamva Country Club, attended by Zvomuya’s inner circle, saw the group resolve to stage an unsanctioned demonstration against the Mines Ministry. This blatant disregard for President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s ban on unsanctioned protests has raised eyebrows and sparked fears of further violence in the province.
Adding to the growing list of concerns, the meeting was also attended by Shem and Clemence Zerura, two individuals currently on bail for murder and wanted in connection with the July 18th violence. Their presence at the gathering further underscores the gravity of the situation and the potential for catastrophic consequences.
Zvomuya’s audacious behavior, including the alleged misuse of President Mnangagwa’s name to justify his actions, has cast a long shadow over the province.
With his apparent impunity and the backing of a criminal network, the people of Shamva are living in fear of what may come next.
As the situation escalates, questions are being raised about the government’s ability to contain the violence and bring Zvomuya and his cohorts to justice.
