Harare-AWARD winning property developer, West Prop Holdings, has entered into a strategic synergy with South African property giant Exemplar, Express Mail Zim can report.
The strategic partnership is meant to construct the country’s largest shopping mall which is projected to span a massive 65 000 square meters.
Examplar’s chief executive Jason McCormick made the announcement on Wednesday at the ZimReal Property Investment Forum,
He said the mall would house 200 tenants.
Said Mcormick:
“It is going to be a first-world shopping mall. In terms of size, we did market research last year. It is going to be of the standard that you would see in South Africa or Dubai or London. ”
Westprop Chief Executive Ken Sharpe said was ecstatic with the development.
Examplar has a decorated track record in the industry which has seen them developing more than 90 shopping malls in South Africa.
“We identified a large site covering 15 hectares. That is the site that his father, John McCormick, the founder of the company, identified even 10 years prior to us getting the land,” said Sharpe.
The mall will be built in the leafy surburb of Borrowdale in the capital.
Lately, Westprop has been on massive Infrastructural development projects with the latest being the Hills Estate which was commissioned last week.
