West Property to assist HCC in rehabilitation of Greenwood Park, move to curb further ‘rot’

Harare -FOLLOWING a recent visit to Greenwood Park by West Property CEO Mr Kenneth Sharpe where he shot a video in which he makes reference to a fish rotting from the head after he had witnessed the not so pleasing state of affairs of the once vibrant and go to park, West Property has pledged to assist council rehabilitate a section of the park to avoid further rot.

He was in the company of his mentee 16 year old Ms Nokutenda Kadye who was attached to his office during the December school break.

In his discussion with the mini ‘CEO’ Sharpe who has taken it upon himself to mentor the youth described to Ms Nokutenda Kadye how the park had deteriorated hence the fish rots from the head anecdote.

Said Mr Sharpe:

“You can see it has all the potential. All it needs (Greenwood Park) is some management. You know it’s all about management.
“Leadership starts from the top. In Russia they have a saying that translates in English as the fish rots from its head. So when the fish is rotten, it actually start rotting from its head. Which means it’s all about leadership (Council leadership).
“We have to taker accountability. The people that are responsible for this should never leave it in this state. They need to accept responsibility and sort it out”.
Following that visit, West Property has decided to assist Harare City Council with the rehabilitation of a broken down borehole in the park/or erect a perimeter fence around the park to ensure no intruders enter the park.

The once glamorous park is now home to vagrants who have defaced the park which was one of the wonders of the Sunshine City.
However, with the intervention of West Property working on conjunction with HCC the park is set to reclaim it’s lost glory.
