US based Zim professor speaks on inclusive education
UNIVERSITY of North Carolina at Greensboro Lecturer Prof Morgan Chitiyo who was invited by the Federation Of Zimbabwean Educators Unions ( FOZEU) a federation comprised of 5 unions namely ARTUZ , PTUZ, EUZ, PEUZ and ZVTU to give a presentation at their strategic planning recently spoke on the importance of teachers as an integral part of learning.
Proffessor Morgan Chitiyo also mentioned the role of the teacher in implementing Inclusive Education.
“Teacher training should incorporate special education to all teachers so that teachers understand and identify learning difficulties of learners, as country we can use case study of countries such as Malawi who have successfully implemented the inclusive model” Said Proff Chitiyo.
The Esteemed Zimbabwean born Proffessor who is academically highly ranked in the USA is the current Department Chair of Specialized Education Services at North Carolina University. He is a holder of Ph.D. in Applied Behaviour Analysis, Tennessee Technological University, MBA Tennesee Technological University B.A.Ed, Africa University and has done several research and publications on Positive Behaviour Support, Autism, Inclusive Education and Special education professional development for school teachers.
