Unemployed Zim graduates stampede to drop CVs at govt sponsored Job Fair
many turn to cyber crime, soccer betting
Harare- THERE was massive pandemonium at the government hosted Job Fair held in Harare on Tuesday morning,Express Mail Zim can report.
The fair was targeting recent graduates aged below 30 years of age and organised by the Public Service Commision offering vacancies accross all ministries.
There was a massive turnout by desparate job seekers who stampeded to submit their resumes at Heritage Village.
“There was a massive turnout,I went there in the morning but failed to submit my CV since some people were been beaten during the stampede.
“I had to go back home as I could not stand the pushing and shoving especially in this hot weather.
“They should have made an orderly systematic proccess,” a job seeker who recently graduated from Midlands State University .
The massive turnout was triggered by the high unemployment rate in the country.
The unemployment rate is forecasted to 63.55% in 2023.
Most of the university graduates have turned into informal trade, cyber crime,con artistry and soccer betting .t
