Two more cops in the dock for US$70k ‘safebox theft’

Harare- Two more police officers were arrested and implicated as accomplices in the theft of a safe containing US$70000 ,early this month.
The two are Maxwell Chidyamudungwe and Tyirai Muzarabani making the net of the incarcarated cops to six.
Circumstances are that the duo,acting on a tip off, interrogated their colleagues until they revealed the whereabouts of the safe which had US$14 000.
They recovered the cash at a house in Vainona .
The duo then underdeclared the exhibit and pocketed US$8000.
The matter came to light on July 12 after investigations by CID Homicide and the two joined the other four in custody.
The four had already taken their loot after recovering money and jewellery that was stolen in Belvedere.
