Trump says world leaders ‘kissing my ass’ to strike trade deals
His advisor say US is not interested in making any deals with countries that are offering zero tariffs in response to Trump’s tariffs, including Zimbabwe, because it views zero tariff offers as “zero tariff cheating”

WASHINGTON, United States – United States President Donald Trump mocked world leaders wanting to make a trade deal saying, “These countries are calling us up, kissing my ass.”
Trump has imposed sweeping new tariffs on global trading partners, upending decades of rules-based trade and threatening cost increases for consumers.
Now he says some countries are trying to make a deal.
“Please, please sir make a deal. I’ll do anything. I’ll do anything, sir,” he said, mocking the leaders.
Trump was addressing a fundraising gala for House Republicans on Tuesday night.
Peter Navarro, Trump’s trade adviser, has meanwhile stated that the administration is not interested in making any deals with countries that are offering zero tariffs in response to Trump’s tariffs, including Zimbabwe, because it views zero tariff offers as “zero tariff cheating” and a “misdirection.”
“When they come to us and say, we’ll go to zero tariffs, that means nothing to us,” Navarro told CNBC.
The announcement is a blow to Zimbabwe which joined Israel, Taiwan and Vietnam in offering to scrap all tariffs on US goods in the hope of getting Trump to reverse his tariff hikes.
Trump hit Zimbabwe with an 18 percent “reciprocal” tariff.
