Reports say the three- term serving mayor died after collapsing
Redcliff:The sudden death of Redcliff’s mayor, Clayton Masiyatsva, this afternoon has cast a sombre shadow over the once-steel-producing town.
Masiyatsva reportedly collapsed and was confirmed dead upon admission at Topomas Clinic.He was serving his third consecutive term as Mayor.
In a statement Redcliff Municipality said Councilor Masiyatsva died after a short illness.
“The municipality of Redcliff would like to notify it’s residents and stakeholders of the untimely passing away if His Worship the Mayor of Redcliff Cllr Clayton Sundirayi Masiyatsva. The mayor passed away today the 24th of January after a short illness,” reads the bereavement notice from the town council.
