Temba Mliswa’s Daughter Denied Bail!
Describing his parenting approach as "tough love," Mliswa emphasized the need for accountability
Former Member of Parliament for Norton, Temba Mliswa, is advocating for severe penalties for individuals involved in drug cartels, whose illicit activities are wreaking havoc in communities and causing harm to lives. This call comes in the wake of the arrest of his daughter, M’diwa (20), on drug possession charges.
M’diwa appeared in the Harare Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, where she was remanded in custody. Expressing his concern, Mliswa emphasized the dangers of drug peddling, likening it to attempted murder due to the destructive path it leads individuals down.
He commended the Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) for their efforts in tackling the drug problem but stressed the importance of rehabilitation for offenders. Mliswa expressed hope that this experience would serve as a turning point for his daughter and urged her to choose a different path.
Describing his parenting approach as “tough love,” Mliswa emphasized the need for accountability and urged parents not to abandon their children out of anger or suffocate them with excessive affection.
Detailing the circumstances of M’diwa’s arrest, it is alleged that detectives received information about her possession of drugs and subsequently found her in possession of crystal meth at her residence. Mliswa urged parents to remain vigilant and reiterated his commitment to fighting drug abuse, even if it means taking legal action against offenders.
He shared his personal experience with his daughter, highlighting her refusal to adhere to his guidance and expressing frustration at the challenges of parenting in the face of drug abuse. Despite the difficulties, Mliswa emphasized the importance of addressing the issue and reiterated his stance against drug abuse.
