Suicidal Jackie Ngarande checks into rehab
Harare- SUICIDAL socialite and philanthropist Jackie Ngarande has checked into rehab after her dramatic live video where she contemplated taking her life.
The vivacious beau recently recorded a 23-minute long live Facebook video, contemplating suicide.
“I just want to die and rest.
“Most of you here come to me with your own problems. You make me a superhero for solving other people’s problems. But, the truth is I don’t have anybody who I sit with, share my problems with and who listens to me,” she lamented sobbing uncontrollably and the video went on an improtu blackout.
In a statement released Wednesday, Ngarande’s publicist Michael Shoko announced that she was seeking proffesional care to undergo a behavioural metarmophosis.
“Currently, Miss Ngarande is seeking professional care where she is being treated for depression, anxiety and also attending grief and loss therapy classes,” Shoko said.
“She still needs your prayers as she goes through this recovery journey and an update will be given in due course as she is determined to get better and resume her philanthropy work on this platform.
“Miss Ngarande would like to thank you heartily for the support you have given her through prayer, words of encouragement, visits, phone calls, text messages and the flowers that brightened up her days.
“It is gestures like these which have helped give her strength to recover and cheer up,” he said. Ngarande is not without drama as expected of most socialites world over.
Lucky for her, she did not go the Whitney Houston route where she was hooked on drugs after alleged influence from hubby Bobi Brown. Ngarande has kept her love life under the wraps but has been linked to a government minister (name withheld), an allegation that was quickly rubbished.
She has also been said to have clashed with the late national hero Oliver Mtukudzi’s widow Daisy following her close relationship to the superstar.
At one time she bought a Tuku CD for a whopping US$500 and when she pledged the buy at Pakare Paya,Daisy was visibly ‘annoyed’, at least according to her facial expressions witnessed by this reporter . Ngarande has hosted High Tea parties to assist the underprivileged.
