Harare- Businessman and former House of Assembly Member for Bulawayo South Raj Modi has bounced back as Deputy Minister of Industry and Commerce ,Express Mail Zim has learnt.
It was a double appointment with Midlands parliamentarian Sleiman Timios Kwidini also landing the Deputy Minister of Health post.
In a statement released Wedmesday by the Chief Secretary in the Office of the President Martin Rushwaya the appointments were guided :
” In terms of Subsection 2 of Section 104 of the Constitution of Zimbabwe Amendment (No. 20) Act 2013, His Excellency the President, Cde Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa has appointed the following Deputy Ministers with immediate effect.”
Modi supritended the same portfolio when Mnangagwa came into power but lost in
the parliamentary elections and was not selected, only to be reboosted by a win in the by-elections.

With the opposition Nelson Chamisa led CCC in its current discord, Zanu PF will continue to rule the roost- resonating with its party symbol of a cock.
In the 2018 elections, the opposition lost one constituency in Bulawayo after the party fielded two candidates, resulting in a split vote, which handed Zanu-PF’s Raji Modi the seat.
