Staunch Warriors supporter Eddie ‘Mboma’ Nyatanga dies
In a case of situational irony, the die- hard supporter passed on the same day his beloved team was walloped by Bafana Bafana and fell 3-1 due to tactical deficiency and schoolboy blunders
Harare- BUSINESSMAN and founding president of the Zimbabwe Soccer Supporters Association (ZSSA) Eddie ‘Mboma’ Nyatanga has died.
He was 63.
The ‘godfather’ of ZSSA died Tuesday at his Borrowdale house and the cause of his death is yet to be ascertained.
A Covid 19 survivor, Mboma’s unwavering support of the national soccer team is an open secret and his immense contribution to footbaĺl is documented.
In a case of situational irony, the staunch Warriors supporter died on the same day his beloved team The Warriors was walloped by South Africa’s Bafana Bafana and fell 3-1.
It is the same nation that the Warriors walloped 4-1 in 1992 at the National Sports Stadium where Peter Ndlovu scored a fantastic brace- but it aapears the game has changed in the generational transition!
Funeral arrangements have not yet been announced.
