Shocking: DNA tests reveal that teen cousin is the nine- year old girl’s baby father
Bulawayo – THE astonishing case of a nine-year old girl who gave birth to a baby via the C-section has a new twist exonerating the father and nailing her 13-year old cousin,Express Mail Zim has heard.
Preliminary investigations had implicated the father as a suspect.
Police confirmed that the DNA tests revealed her cousin was the father of the child who was born at United Bulawayo Hospitals.
he ZRP confirms that the DNA results obtained from the National University of Science and Technology (NUST) on November 25, 2022 in connection with the paternity of the nine-year-old girl’s child have established that the victim’s cousin brother (13) is the father of the child,” said ZRP spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi in a statement.
Both minors were taken for counselling.
