Sengezo Tshabangu scoffs at Mayor Mafume’s supposed recall
says Chamisa is not authorised
Harare- SELF Styled Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) interim secretary general Sengezo Tshabangu has reversed Harare mayor Jacob Mafume’s sacking by party leader Nelson Chamisa,” Express Mail Zim has learnt.
This comes after Mafume together with six party officials were sacked by Chamisa but the development was regarded as a farce by Tshabangu.
The interim secretary-general wrote to Local Government Minister Winston Chitando advising him about the unauthorised recalling .
The letter partly read:
“We hereby advise that Sengezo Tshabangu, the Interim Secretary General of the Party is the only officer authorised to effect recalls and to communicate with public bodies for that purpose in terms of our party constitution previously lodged with your office.
“Meanwhile, due to a High Court provisional order in case number HH652/23 the only official with the powers to effect recalls is interdicted from effecting any further recalls pending the finalisation of matters before the High Court where his authority is being challenged.”
The letter further states there is no other party official with the authority to effect recalls.
“We ask that you have regard to the legal matters pending before the courts and our Constitution before acting on any purported letters of recall and rightly disregard such mischievous efforts,” further reads the letter.
The circus within CCC has reached alarming levels with political analysts blaming Chamisa of being a ‘dictator’
“Chamisa has proven to be a dictator and his style of leadership smacks of a despot who only believes in Chamisa Chete Chete.
“Remember his rise to power was through the back door after the late Morgan Tsvangirai smuggled him.
“He was clearly walloped by Douglas Mwonzora,” said a former CCC official who preffered anonymity.
