‘VP Chiwenga loses ground in Mat North ‘, says Zanu PF central committee member
Harare– ZANU PF central committee member and self proclaimed Tsholotsho declaration mastermind Believe Gaule is under fire after a red flag was raised over his conduct which is not in tangent with the revolutionary party’s policies.
Express Mail Zim is in possession of the letter (copy) that was sent to the party’s National Chairperson Oppah Muchinguru-Kashiri and copied to the secretary for legal affairs Paul Mangwana condemning Gaule’s conduct.
He was implicated in a leaked audio wherein he instructed a local journalist to write a story claiming that Vice President Constantino Chiwenga’s supposed faction was losing ground in Matebeleland North, a claim that was declared as a fallacy by top party officials.
A ZANU PF member from Mashonaland Central wrote a 10 point letter to Mangwana and Muchinguri raising issues and points on which the party is expected to discipline Gaule .
The scathing letter cites two newspaper articles as evidence against Gaule.
One of the articles contains a link to a leaked audio which puts Gaule in a Catch 22 situation.
In the audio, Gaule is heard claiming that he has the support of Speaker of Parliament Jacob Mudenda, Minister Sithembiso Nyoni and ZANU PF National Youth league secretary for security Thubelihle Ncube.
Nyoni distanced herself from Gaule’s claims.
This development poses to carve a landmark disciplinary action by the ruling party in regards cadres claiming that VP Chiwenga is leading a faction seeking to wrestle power from President Emmerson Mnangagwa.
The newly wed VP Chiwenga has repeatedly called for unity in the party and for the party to rally behind Mnangagwa as his principal.
Efforts to get comments from Gaule drew a blank as his mobile phone was not reachable at the time of writing.
Gaule is a political ‘prostitute’ due to his vaccilating career.
He is a Central Committee member after his ‘divorce’ as MDC Alliance senator .
He has also made sensational claims that he is the brains behind the controversial Tsholotsho declaration.
He went to the extent of documenting his ‘fetish’ claims in a book that he authored.
However, recently an incident that occurred after the death of Retired General Godfrey Chanakira gave credence to the supposed perceived rift between Mnangagwa and his deputy Chiwenga.
After initially denying Chanakira national hero status by simply offering a State-assisted funeral, Mnangagwa later made an embarrassing U-turn and accorded him the highest honour for heroes.
Chanakira, who succumbed to a heart ailment, was the permanent secretary in VP Chiwenga’s office.
