Scores of citizens throng Magaisa memorial service
Harare- SCORES of Big Saturday Read (BSR) column fans have braved the cold weather and thronged the East End Hall (Showgrounds) Sunday , for the late prominent lawyer and constitutional expert Alex Magaisa , Express Mail Zim can report.
Top political analysts like Ibbo Mandaza and CCC leader Nelson Chamisa were in attendance.
Magaisa’s body arrived in Harare Saturday and it was welcomed by people from all walks of life including Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) leadership Nelson Chamisa and Tendai Biti and other civic society leaders.
Magaisa has a decorated career which saw him acting as former adviser to the late former prime minister Morgan Tsvangirai.
He is also one of the experts behind drafting the new constitution.
He died on June 5 at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Kent, England, after battling a heart ailment.
Upon the arrival of Magaisa ‘s body, CCC leader Chamisa posted his ‘welcome ‘ remarks on Twitter.
“Wangu is now back home. The Citizens’ hero, our change champion deserves all the honour. Life is a puzzle.”
