Rushwaya off the hook…

Harare:Zimbabwe Miners Federation president Henrietta Rushwaya was Wednesday fined US$5,000 and given wholly suspended sentence of 18 months. The gold worth US$330k is to be forfeited to the state.
The level 15 fine ,of US$5000 she received is due on the 17th of November or she spends 12 months behind bars.

Rushwaya was convicted for smuggling 6kg of gold worth more than US$333 000 to Dubai three years ago and was remanded in custody and sentence was surprisingly postponed three times.

Rushwaya was Dubai bound when she was nabbed carrying the gold in her handbag at Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport on October 26, 2020.
