Rogue municipal cops cash in on unlicensed shop licences blitz
Harare- Rogue municipal police officers have taken advantage of the ongoing blitz targeting unlicenced shops in Harare CBD and are in the habit of soliciting for bribes ,Express Mail Zim can reveal.
On Friday afternoon Express Mail Zim reporter witness a crack team comprised of uniform and non uniformed municipal police officers shutting down unlicensed shops along Park Street.
However, some of the officers who were not uniformed could be seen demanding bribes from different shop owners while their uniformed counterparts would close the doors and seal them with white tape marked with red ink.
“Ngatiite zvinoitwa fast baba tisingapedze nguvai,” said the officer in earshot distance of this reporter.
He was handed over US$30 in clear view of this reporter.

The operation was headed by one Health Inspector Makonese.
