Public Display of Affection : Mbeu celebrates wife’s 45th birthday
Harare- INDEED as the old adage say ‘ beauty is in the eyes of the beholder”, award winning musician Ashton Mbeu Nyahora has rubbished criticism of his marriage and wished his wife Faith Mashami a happy 45th birthday.
The 31-year- old crooner married Mashami last December and has been enjoying marital bliss including public display of affection (PDA).
Dismissing naysayers,on Tuesday, Mbeu posted a romantic birthday congratulatory message to his wife and appreciating her beauty .
“Zvandinoona pauri zvakasiyana nezvinoonekwa nedzimwe boys.Happy birthday my darling wife.Ndokuda mkadzi wangu (My eye for you is different form other guys, I love you my wife, happy birthday),” wrote Mbeu on his official Facebook page.
The couple’s marriage has been under the microscope facing a barrage of criticism from some sectors of society who blasted Mbeu for dumping and neglecting his erstwhile first wife Praise Chipungu.
Some had issues with the couple’s 14 years age difference but marriage experts were quick to wade in arguing that “age is nothing but a number”.
“Age is nothing but just a number and it’s not a hindrance to two hearts that care.
“This set up has been in existence since time immemorial and there is nothing awkward.
” Look at the French president Emmanuel Macron, he is a well respected global leader but check the age difference between him and his wife.
“Our society tend to major in the minors, have you ever asked yourself how much energy this Faith lady has invested in Mbeu the person and Mhodzi Tribe the brand.
” It’s a perfect match and that is what it is,” opined Maxwell Bake a sociologist.
Mbeu however made it clear that he has moved on and wedding bells are looming.
Details of birthday celebrations were not immediately available at the time of writing but astute businesswoman Mashami is known to be a person ‘about the party’!
