PSC commissioner fingered in messy land grab

A political storm is brewing in Mashonaland Central where a commissioner with the Public Service Commission (PSC), Tsitsi Choruma, is accused of abusing office in a messy land grab.

Express Mail Zim has it on good authority that Choruma illegally invaded Subdivision 3 of Amandas Estate which was allocated to local businessman Prosper Muchenje in Mazowe.

Documents seen by this publication show that Muchenje was legally allocated the 200 hectare farm and Choruma allegedly corruptly attained a bogus offer letter. “Choruma used her powerful position at the PSC and forcibly invaded the farm. She is in possession of a fake offer letter and defied a court order that barred her from the farm. She uses a soldier named Major Ushe to spearhead the invasion,”narrated our impeccable source.

Express Mail Zim also had sight of a letter authored by Muchenje and directed to Minister of State Mashonaland Central and copied to the provincial lands committee. In the letter, Muchenje alleges that Choruma attempted to obstruct justice in the matter. ”

Ms Choruma has defeated the course of justice by writing an email to have a judgement by Justice Munangati reversed which resulted in intimidation of the judge forcing her into recusing herself which to me is abuse of office by Ms Choruma,” wrote Muchenje.

Efforts to get a comment from Choruma drew a blank as her mobile phone went unanswered at the time of writing.

This development follows hot on the heels of yet another messy land grab involving a senior government official misrepresenting to have received orders from Zanu PF leadership.

The alleged culprit is Chegutu West member of parliament Dexter Nduna who allegedly masterminded the takeover of Risboro Farm in Chegutu a fortnight ago. Thousands of people were wayled to occupy the farm where a haphazard process of stands allocation and marking took place before the Zimbabwe Republic Police swooped in to evict the illegal settlers.

Nduna’s actions are a complete negation of Government’s plans to renew the city in line with National Development Strategy 1(NDS1).

The farm according to the Urban Councils act was designated for a smart city.
