Speaking in an interview on renowned television show ‘Love Dubai’, hosted by celebrated personalities Samrin Gupta and Casey Fitzgerald , Sharpe vowed to “Bring Dubai to Zimbabwe”.

“I first visited Dubai in 1992 and I remember the hotel I stayed was in a small two lane street but look at it now.
“This has inspired me to adopt the Dubai blue print and take it to my country Zimbabwe, the high rising buildings and well built structures, ” he said.

“Nothing much was happening under Mugabe (Robert) but the new government is promoting business and we have a vision 2030 in place,” he added.

He went to explain the history of Zimbabwe from colonialism to present day and emphasized how race or skin colour has nothing to do with one’s love for the country.
“Skin colour or race has nothing to do with anyone with someone with a desire to contribute in the development of the country and make it better,” he said much to the amazement of one of the presenters Gupta who quipped in giving complements on Zimbabwe’s reputation as a good tourist destination.

In response to her complement, Sharpe said as much as Zimbabwe boasts of a rich wildlife habitat, citizens still deserved quality accommodation lifestyle and it was their vision as West Property.

“We are putting bricks on the ground and bricks are permanent.
“We want to build stylish community and the third biggest mall and communities with recreation facilities and amenities, ” said Sharpe.

He said West Property’s main thrust is unforgettable customer experience and proper planning.

“Our focus is customer centric just like here in Dubai.
“At this stage we are preoccupied with planning and now at the superstructure,” said Sharpe who said they have 40 million bricks on the ground with a target of more by 2050.
It appears he wants to improve infrastructure and decent accomodation for citizens ‘brick by brick’.

West Property is set to construct a one stop gated community dubbed Pomona City after proposed expansion of the Mbudzi Mall which has created massive employment.
