Proggy set to illuminate Club Origins in virgin perfomance
Harare- TALENTED musician Progress Chipfumo invades his favourite hunting ground in Mbare Sunday night for a special show at Origins Nights.
This is the first time Origins Nights is hosting the revered artist since rebranding.
Formerly known as Club Matute, the spot enjoys near monopoly of nightlife and showbiz in general in Harare’s oldest suburb and Proggie is set to bless the place with his timeless tunes.
Speaking to Zim Current Affairs, Origins Nights manager Brian Garwe said all was set for the special show from one of Mbare’s favourite sons.
“We know that Sunday will be different in terms of the type of clientele that will grace us. Thus we have made all preparations to ensure that there is enough security to cover both the car park and the revellers inside,” said Garwe.
“It has been a while since Proggie has performed not just at our club but in Mbare generally, so there is likely to be a bumper crowd. However, we are ready for for everyone.”
The show is also a celebration of one of Mbare’s finest DJs, DJ Jedza, who commands a large following within the suburb.
Ras Pompy, the yesteryear child star, who mesmerised music fans with his talent a few years back, will curtain raise for Proggie.
“We brought in Ras Pompy to balance the equation. Pompy plays with a band now and is quite a unique and mature talent.
“This is definitely a show not to miss. If one wants to experience a different kind of nightlife vibe, then this is their show,” said Garwe. Zim Current Affairs
