Policy strategist Mombeshora appointed PSC commisioner
She becomes part of commisioners with the overall role of exercising disciplinary powers over members in line Ministries
Harare – POLICY stategist and close ally to former Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe governor Gideon Gono, Millicent Mombeshora has on Tuesday been appointed Public Service Commision (PSC) commisioner,Express Mail Zim can report.
The appointment was made in terms of Section 202 (1) of the Constitution of Zimbabwe as read with Section 320.
Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet Martin Rushwaya made the announcement in a statement released Tuesday.
“Dr Mombeshora’s knowledge and broad and diverse experience at all levels in both the private and public sectors in Zimbabwe will be of great benefit in spearheading sustainable economic development.
” She has chaired boards and served as board member of State-owned enterprises and parastatals namely the Zimbabwe Media Commission and the Prisons and Correctional Service Commission,” partly read the statement.
She holds undergraduate and post graduate degrees in Economics, Finance, Strategic Management, Marketing and Business from the United Kingdom, South Africa and the United States.
She has served both in the private and public sectors including in banking, information, agriculture and public administration and management.
The Public Service Commission has an overall role of exercising disciplinary powers over members in line Ministries and departments who violate rules and regulations outlined in part VIII of Statutory Instrument 1 of 2000, as amended.
