Outgoing Chitungwiza mayor Mutimbanyoka urges council to maintain legacy of development
Chitungwiza- OUTGOING Chitungwiza mayor Kevin Mutimbanyoka has urged the incoming council to maintain the legacy of infrastructural development in the dormitory town.
He showered praises on the Second Republic’s sound policies and initiatives that support development in communities across the country.
Mutimbanyoka made major transformation in his 47 months in office.
He assumed office in March 2022 and managed to settle employees salaries backlog.
Addressing journalist Weenesday the charismatic mayor outlined the developments made in his tenure.
“When I got into office the council was in shambles.
“There were issues of ghost workers, poor sewer system,water crisis.
“To address the ghost workers crisis I introduced biometric clocking system and on water we approached Harare council and we managed to strike a deal and we also drilled boreholes with the help of the President.
“We hope the new council will emulate us to develop Chitungwiza.
“Had I been given five years Chitungwiza’s image will be miles ahead,”he said.
During his short tenure. Mutimbanyoka managed to acquire two tipper trucks,graders and refurbished the sewer system.
“We approached Africa Development Bank (ADB) and they donated US1.8 million for sewer reticulation ,” said Mutimbanyoka.

Mutimbanyoka said he is willing to work with the incoming council if need be for the sake of development of Chitungwiza..
