One size fits all new Parly dispels body-shaming

Harare- IN a bid to avoid ‘body-shaming’, architects of the recently completed new Parliament Building in Mt Hampden have ensured that both slim and bulky senators and parliamentarians are accommodated, Express Mail Zim can report.
The seats come in different sizes and are designed in a manner that accomodate any body stature.
The magnificent building consists of the National Assembly that can accommodate 350 Members of Parliament (MPs), while the Senate has 100 seats.
The US$100 million facility was funded by China Aid project and is set to be one of the best Sino-Africa project in Sub-Saharan Africa.
The contractor, Shanghai Construction group manager Libo Cai said the project cements the Sino-Zim relationship which is historic and traces back to the liberation struggle.
“Zimbabwe’s new Parliament building is one of the most important projects in the China-Africa co-operation exercise, which is aimed at strengthening solidarity between the people of Zimbabwe and China, while improving facilities in Parliament to ensure better services to Zimbabweans at large.
The project strongly supports democracy in Zimbabwe, while boosting the country’s image,” he said.

Construction kicked off in November 2018, exactly a year after the Second Republic took over the levers of power.
It took five years to complete owing to the impediments caused by the Covid 19 pandemic.
