His perseverance inspired me and like his name aptly suggest in vernec 'God is with us' '

Obituary by Kudakwashe Robert Chinhengo

In more than a decade ago on in the halls of our high school, I met Tinashe(Navonika) .

From that moment on, we forged an unbreakable bond, a friendship that would weather life’s storms and celebrate its triumphs.
Together, we navigated the twists and turns of adolescence, sharing laughter, mischief, and dreams.

As we transitioned to college, Tinashe’s passion for music began to shine. I stood by him, supporting his artistic journey, and we even collaborated on a song – though I quickly realized singing wasn’t my forte! (laughs) Our friendship deepened, and our shared vision for success took shape.

Life took us to South Africa, where his sister and husband graciously welcomed us as young graduates from MSU seeking our footing. Though I eventually returned to Zimbabwe to tend to personal responsibilities, our connection remained strong.

Back in Zimbabwe, we brought our dream to life – opening a studio in Marlborough (Navygeta Records) , where we recorded both emerging and established artists names are too plenty to mention’

Tinashe’s talent, creativity, and perseverance inspired me every day.

Our vision was to conquer the music industry together, but God had other plans.

My brother and reputable entertainment journalist had our back although he sometimes ‘slept on duty’! had our back in consultancy.

But like a thief in the night, death robbed me of my brother, friend and mafia(sic).

Today, I say goodbye to my dear friend, my brother. Tinashe, your “happy place” awaits. May your soul rest in eternal peace. Your legacy lives on through the music, memories, and countless lives you touched.
