Ngezi Platinum puts Benjani’s head on the guillotine for ‘no show’

Ngezi- LEGENDARY Zimbabwe Warriors footie star Benjani Mwaruwari (43) has been fired as head coach at Ngezi Platinum Stars owing to a string of poor results,Express Mail Zim has heard. This was Benjani’s virgin appointment as head coach at a professional club since acquiring his coaching credentials.

He faced a Herculean task after replacing Rodrick Dhlakama and has not had a victory in the last four matches only  managing three wins in his first 13 games as gaffer.

The team is on ninth position after garnering 30 points from 22 matches, a development tantamount to diminishing returns considering the financial investment made in the technical team.

The ‘spark’ of Benjani’s unceremonious dismissal was the loss against Yadah last Saturday where they lost 1-0 to the Walter Magaya led outfit. B

Benjani has a decorated career where he has plied his trade with high flying Manchester City but his prowess in the middle of the park didn’t translate to his technical capability- at least with the imperical  evidence produced in his three months as head coach of the cash rich Mhondoro based side. Benjani did not respond to questions sent to him on his mobile phone at the time of writing and Ngezi is yet to issue an official statement in regards the matter putting Benjani on the guillotine.

Inside sources however confirmed his dismissal.
