Mutare businessman Mupfumi donates USD800 worth of national dress fabric to boost Miss Uhuru beauty pageant to be held in his hometown

Mutare- THE forthcoming 44th Independence celebrations are potentially explosive with glitz and glamour set tone by the Miss Uhuru Celebrations to be held in Mutare on Saturday, Express Mail Zim can report.
The event is designed to boost patriotism and empower young women with beauty and brains accross all provinces, according to coordinator Zinzile Mantiziba.

“The nation turns 44 and we are happy and optimistic about the achievements made by the Second Republic in line with this year’s theme maintaining peace, unity and development towards attaining Vision 2030.
“It is in that light,that we designed the pageant to promote Zimbabwean culture and beauty through showcasing talent and creativity bent on celebrating the achievements of Zimbabwean women with beauty and brains from both urban and rural communities,” said Mantiziba.
She added:
“We strive to make an overwhelming impact in the empowerment and total emancipation of the girl child from all backgrounds.
We are targeting the age groups of girls between 17 to 23 and celebrate these young girls and also impart the spirit of national pride and patriotism to them as they are tomorrow’s leaders amd parents.”
In supporting the initiative, prominent Mutare businessman, former Zanu PF parliamentarian and philanthropist Isau Mupfumi donated national fabric worth USD800 to the Mutare Central constituency leadership including the district chairpersons towards the inaugural and potentially explosive Miss Uhuru pageant National Dress dinner to be held at Skyview Hotel.
Mupfumi handed over the fabric during the preparation meeting of the event.
The businessman and politician is also a champion of the anti-drug abuse campaign.
In one of his efforts to end drug abuse he recently donated sports apparel to youths in Mutare Central constituency to take part in sport.
Mupfumi donated football and netball kits to 13 youths in the constituency worth a whooping US$10 000.
He also donated football and netball balls.
In light of his national fabric donation, the busimessman is resonating with the First Lady Amai Auxillia Mnangagwa’ vision.
She spearheaded the search for the National dress fabric after embarking on comprehensive consultations with different stakeholders and ethnic groups from all the country’s 10 provinces.
The National Dress Fabric encompasses national symbols such as the Zimbabwe Bird, the National Flag and the Chevron .
Meanwhile, the Miss Uhuru Pageant will be held on Saturday after a clean up campaign in Murambinda by models and stakeholders pencilled for today.
