Mupambi Fires Salvo at Tshabangu
"We may need to warn him of a citizens action against him if he continues like this,"she fumed.
Human rights defender Abigale Mupambi is livid following the recent sacking of opposition leader Lynette Karenyi-Kore by CCC secretary general Sengezo Tshabangu.
Mupambi warned the controversial Tshabangu of angering many citizens because of his antics.
“We may need to warn him of a citizens action against him if he continues like this,”she fumed.
The outspoken human rights activist feels that also the abuse of the ‘recall’ law by Tshabangu is regressive.
‘We don’t care about how and when can he use technicalities to recall leaders who are representatives of the masses, what is dangerous is when he does so so often that he forgets that the pple need service delivery.
“When leaders are shuffled at this rate , there is no basis of holding any leader accountable to anything,”added Mupambi.
She also opines that in the long run ‘opposition lawmakers are at ransom and live in serious fear of the animal called recall and choose to be loyal to an individual than the electorate’.
Since last year,Tshabangu has been recalling legislators percieved to be loyal to the former president of CCC Advocate Nelson Chamisa.
In the latest move,Tshabangu has since replaced Karenyi-Kore,who was endorsed as the president of the CCC but never assumed the position with,Sunningdale legislator Maureen Kademaunga.
The self-imposed CCC interim secretary-general also made other changes with Richard Tsvangirai replacing Takudzwa Ngadziore as the deputy chairperson of the Youth Caucus.
