Mugwadi blasts Nash Paints boss Mutarisi for disrespecting government
Harare- ZANU PF House of Assembly member for Buhera West Tafadzwa Mugwadi has blasted Nash Paints founder Tinashe Mutarisi for desecrating government through making insinuations that it has failed.
Registering his concerns on X (formerly Twitter), Mugwadi said Mutarisi needs to respect and appreciate the conducive business environment created by the Second Republic.
“While individually , entrepreneurs put effort to grow their businesses, let us no desecrate the creators of the environment by unprovoked innuendos. Some modicum of decency and respect will do,” he said in an open letter.
Mugwadi further blasted Mutarisi for deliberately creating ‘enemies’ on social media.
“I come in peace but I should opine that from face value, a clear observation of your trends on social media clearly shows that you could be brooding for needless confrontations,” said Mugwadi.
He schooled Mutarisi that government has put in place an enabling environment for business and it is folly for the businessman to single out occasional power outages as a major impidiment of business in Zimbabwe.
” Our government has promoted all forms of business, local and foreign through deliberate policies aimed at creating an enabling environment for business to thrive. To then single out electricity challenges as if they were targeted on you or that they are unique to Zimbabwe alone in light of known variables affecting electricity availability is literal dishonesty,”he said.
The firebrand politician then gave examples of Strive Masiyiwa, Alex Mashamanda Mashwedes and Kuda Tagwirei among other success stories and he also included Mutarisi whose empire is notably big.
Mugwadi’s sentiments were triggered by a cyber war between Mutarisi,Prophet Passion and Mudiwa Hood.
Mutarisi had previously mooted closing his business due to unavailability of electricity.
In the latest outburst he was taking a dig and Passion and Mudiwa alleging that they were ‘haters’.
The ‘war’ was littered with claims of strong political connections and name-dropping of President Emmerson Mnangagwa
Mutarisi claimed he had Mnangagwa’s number on ‘speed dial’ and can get his audience at any given time.
Mutarisi was angrily reacting to Java who made a video accusing the businessman of burning his factory in an attempt of insurance fraud.
“Mutarisi is a thief,He wanted to dupe the government of money. He faked fire at his factory but insurance companies are clever, you can’t steal from them,” he said.
Mutarisi then counter claimed that he was called by Java and Mudiwa claiming they were sent by authorities to expose him and he made it clear that he was not afraid of the two.
“Makutambira kunonyudza, iwe Mudiwa gara pasi,” he fumed.(You now swimming at the deep end, Mudiwa sit down).
Mudiwa was quick to dissociate himself saying he was just a mediator who wanted the two to make peace.
