Mnangagwa intensifies purging spree, fires Sithembiso Nyoni

Nyoni was a remote dark horse in Vice Presidency when Mohadi was entangled in a sex scandal

Harare – President Emmerson Mnangagwa has fired Sithembiso Nyoni, the minister of Environment, Climate and Wildlife with immediate effect , a top government official announced Thursday,Express Mail Zim can report.

“His Excellency the President of the Republic of Zimbabwe Cde Dr E D Mnangagwa, has in terms of the constitution of Zimbabwe, removed Sithembiso Gile Gladys Nyoni from the position of Minister of Environment, Climate and Wildlife with immediate effect,” Martin Rushwaya, the Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet said in a statement.

The statement did not give Mnangagwa’s reasons for removing Nyoni.

Nyoni has been a cabinet minister for many years and has served under the late president Robert Mugabe.

Mnangagwa has made many changes to the command of the military, cabinet and other senior government appointments during his presidency.

Blessed Geza, a war veteran who is pushing for Mnangagwa’s impeachment on Wednesday told his followers that the president is suffering from vascular dementia.

Geza said Mnangagwa is no longer fit to rule as many of government decisions are being made by criminals surrounding him.
