Mnangagwa appoints deputy mines minister for Oil and Gas Research

Harare – PRESIDENT Mnangagwa has appointed two new deputy ministers, one who will be under the mines ministry responsible for Oil and Gas Research, a statement by the Chief secretary Martin Rushwaya announced Thursday.

Rushwaya said Mnangagwa has appointed Caleb Makwiranzou as the Deputy Minister of Mines and Mining Development responsible for Oil and Gas Research including other Strategic Minerals Exploration.

In another appointment, Albert Tawanda Mavunga was appointed Deputy Minister of Local Government and Public Works responsible for Local authorities and Traditional Leadership, Rushwaya said.

The two appointments are with immediate effect, Rushwaya said.

Zimbabwe has been exploring Gas and Oil deposits in the Muzarabani area in recent years.

Makwiranzou is an astute engineer with vast experience in civil works.
