Express Mail Zim understands that with no full council resolution, certain false stands were fraudulently provided to the council management in 2014.

Lendyview residential area was a project that was essentially issued for 12 USD per square metre, including servicing fees.

However, the management offered themselves stands at an intrinsic value of 3 USD per square metre, referring to the land as unserviced.

” Last month’s full council meeting approved the transfer of two stands—2997 and one belonging to the Finance Director and the Town Clerk, who was the Chamber Secretary at the time—to other beneficiaries after two managers had sold their stands to other beneficiaries,” said an inside source.

When questioned, the newly appointed housing management commitee defended the move.

The top brass is also accused of nepotism and irregular human resources practisces.

“The chamber secretary seconded the human resources officer to appoint accountants and revenue officers without following sound human resources practices,”said our sources.

Efforts to draw a comment from authorities hit snag at the time of writing Sunday.
