Macheso grooms new kid on the block Tichareva

Harare- ACE sungura musician Alick Macheso has spotted a gem and took him under his wings.

Affectionately known as Baba Shero, the guitar wizard identified rising star Senator Tichareva and the two will share the stage in Glendale on October 22.

Tichareva was over the moon for the opportunity to rub shoulders with the ‘big boys’ in sungura music.

“I am so happy to be sailing in the same ship with with big brother Alick Macheso.
“I hope I will be at my best on the day of the show,” said the Sky Limit band member.

The talented musician was born in 1986 in Chikomba district and did his primary education at Mushipe primary school in the same province.

He cut his teeth at the tender age of 14 where he was inspired by Roderick Chomudhara.

“When I came to Harare in 2003, I met Sulumani and Tryson Chimbetu who helped a lot.
“Chomudhara also played a large role in my career ,” said Tichareva.

The promising musician is currently working on an album with a working title “Nharo Akashaya” due for release next year.

Macheso has groomed several musicians including Tryson Chimbetu and Tichareva is set for dizzy heights.
