Just In: Mnangagwa appoints Matuke as State security minister
Harare: PRESIDENT Mnangagwa has on Tuesday appointed Senator Love more Matuke as minister of State Security with immediate effect,Express Mail Zim can report.
The Chief secretary to the President and Cabinet Martin Rushwaya made the announcement in a statement released Tuesday.
“In terms of Section 104. Subsection (1) as read with Section 225of the Constitution,His Excellency the President,Cde Emmerson Dambudzo Mnangagwa has appointed Love more Matuke,Senator as Minister of State Security with immediate effect,” wrote Rushwaya.
The portfolio became vacant after Owen ‘Mudha’ Ncube was dismissed in January 2022 but later bounced back as Provincial State minister for Midlands province.
Matuke is a Masvingo strongman and the current Minister of State for Provincial Affairs in the Office of the President and Cabinet of Zimbabwe and a member of parliament.
