Joburg under threat from terrorist attacks, warns United States
Sandton- THE United States government has warned of a possible terrorist attack in the leafy suburb of Sandton in Joburg, planned for October 29 .
In a statement, the US embassy’s gathered intelligence of the possible terrorist attack and said it was targeting large gatherings of people in the greater Sandton area of Joburg.
As tradition of not negotiating with terrorists and protecting her citizens and supporting staff, Washington advised same to avoid the possible red zone.
“The US Embassy has advised staff to avoid crowds of people and other public gatherings in the greater Sandton area of Johannesburg. during the weekend of 29-30 October 2022,” read part of the statement.
The South African government has not yet responded to the terror alert and the motive remains unknown.

Terrroristic threat is a threat to commit a crime of violence or a threat to cause bodily injury to another person and terrorisation as the result of the proscribed conduct.
Several U.S. and other African states have enacted statutes which impose criminal liability for “terroristic threatening” or “making a terroristic threat.”
