*Hit and run accidents a concern in Harare CBD*

Hit and run accidents cause concern, yesterday a lady was injured by a pirate taxi which was suspected to have been fleeing from the police at cnr Angwa and Robert Mugabe street.

Passengers Association Zimbabwe (PAZ) contacted the Chief Director of Civil Protection who facilitated for an ambulance from the city of Harare to attend and rescue the injured woman.

Some of the ambulances we contacted did not respond to the emergency timely. There is a shortage of ambulances in the city to respond to such emergencies and we are urging authorities to put the necessary facilities in place, this publication has has learnt.

National coordinator of PAZ is also appealing for support for its monitors who are moving around the city to respond to such emergencies.

He said ” We applaud the ZRPand the Civil Protection dept for the continued support they are rendering us in such emergencies”.
