Heroine Kirsty Coventry receives a rousing welcome upon her return as IOC president elect

Harare- HISTORY making Zimbabwean minister and Olympics champion Kirsty Coventry received a hero’s welcome at Robert Mugabe International airport Sunday .Express Mail Zim can report.

She was last week elected the IOC President-elect making her the first African and woman to lead the powerful body.

Fellow female ministers like Tatenda Mavetera were in attendance in support of girl power and in appreciation of the her feat in raising the country’s flag hight at a global level.

Some sectors of the international media have however castigated her and described her as “Mugabe’s golden girl” after their preferred candidate lost.
