Herentals FC owner Benza targets ministerial post

Harare- ASPIRING Zanu PF Mutasa Central MP and Herentals FC owner Innocent Benza is angling himself for a a minestrial post, Express Mail Zim has learnt.

Benza, the oldest football player in the Premier League (51), has ambitions to land the Sports Ministry portfolio currently occupied by Kirsty Coventry who is deputised by Tinoda ‘Tinmac’ Machakaire.

“Benza has made it clear that he is eyeing for a ministerial position and he has not hid his ambitions, ” said our source in Benza’s close circle.

He is said to use his financial muscle to further his ambitions and has embarked on infrastructural development projects in the constituency.

He is related to Defence minister Oppah Muchinguri.

So desperate he is that he has been recently accused of using
violence as a tool to achieve his aspirations.

Last week he was fingered as one of the people behind violence that was meted on CCC members coming from a rally at Hauna in Honde Valley.

According to a source close to the development, after learning of the massive turnout at the Mutasa North rally in Hauna, Honde Valley, the Herentals FC owner organised a number of youths to waylaid the CCC convoy with the help of a war veteran known as Cde Tins Samanga .

The ambitious businessman and politician could not be reached for comment at the time of writing Monday.
