Herentals FC Owner Benza Fingered in Violence Against CCC in Mutasa
MUTASA- ASPIRING Zanu PF Mutasa Central MP and Herentals FC owner Innocent Benza has been fingered as one of the people behind violence that was meted on CCC members coming from a rally at Hauna in Honde Valley.
According to a source close to the development, after learning of the massive turnout at the Mutasa North rally in Hauna, Honde Valley, the Herentals FC owner organised a number of youths to waylaid the CCC convoy with the help of a war veteran known as Cde Tins Samanga .
“Benza is said to have mobilised vehicles that ferried some youths from his constituency. A well-known violent war veteran Cde Tins also supplied some other youths who then blocked Chamisa’s convoy smashing windows and injuring several opposition party supporters.
“This happened between Gwiriri and DC (Mutasa District Council,” said the source who requested anonymity.
It is not the first time, Benza has been accused of violence. During the Zanu PF primaries he is said to have unleashed thugs on fellow Zanu PF candidate one Sakupwanya which he subsequently won.
He is contesting in a stronghold CCC constituency which was under deadlocked MP Trevor Saruwaka for 3 consecutive terms.
