Gun- totting Zanu PF Glen Norah shadow MP Magaya evokes political violence, leaves his ‘CCC’ mechanic for dead.

Harare: ZANU PF shadow member of parliament for Glen Norah Crispen Magaya has evoked fears of political violence ahead of the 2023 general elections.

Express Mail Zim understands that Magaya drew out a gun and threatened to shoot his mechanic Tatenda Tinofa (23) before battering him with a chain and iron bars going on to pour some unknown liquid on his body- leaving him for dead.

Sources say Magaya accused Tinofa for failing to repair his vehicle and stealing spare part, further accusing him of being a supporter of opposition CCC.

“He ganged up with his friend Nyasha and dragged Tinofa from his housein Glen Norah C.

” They confined him to his house in the same neighbourhood and Magaya pointed a gun at him hurling insults accusing him of stealing his motor spares and being a member of CCC.

“They poured some substance on him and the assault lasted for five hours,” narrated our impeccable source who spoke on condition of anonymity in fear of reprisal .

Tinofa has since filed a police report, Express Mail Zim gleaned a copy of the medical report and is in possession of his bed side visuals at a local government hospital showing the extent of the damage inflicted on his torso by Magaya and his henchmen.

This publication is also in possession of a copy of an affidavit authored by Tinofa giving a blow by blow account of how he was attacked.

When contacted for comment Monday, Magaya poured cold water on the allegations and counter accused Tinofa of ‘stealing’ his car and spares.

“This guy was tasked to repair my car and he stole it and spares for two days.
“Akazonetsana nevapfanha vangu (he had squabbles with my aides over the issue) and I was nowhere near there.
“They must leave us alone,” said Magaya.

Magaya is not a stranger to controversy, he has been accused of setting up illegal structures without proper reticulation and roads posing a health hazard.

Glen Norah residents have put it on record that Magaya set up illegal market stalls at a bus termimus opposite retail store OK Zimbabwe at Glen Norah B shopping centre where he forces vendors to part with US$5 per table – a de javu of the ‘Chipangano era’.

In his defence, he said he was fighting for the ruling party’s rights.

“I fight for Zanu PF rights as I am their MP here in Glen Norah .We cannot allow CCCto take land and ise it for their campaign,” he was qouted as saying.

Magaya was walloped by CCC’s Wellington Chikomboin the March 26 by- elections .

Tinofa is recuperating at home .
