Guilty as charged: Tapiwa Makore snr convicted of murder, sentence to be handed down July 12

Harare- THE parents to the slain seven -year-old big Tapiwa Makore found closure Thursday, when High Court Judge Munamato Mutevedzi handed down a guilty verdict on his uncle Tapiwa Makore Snr for murdering his kith and kin on September 17,2020 in Murewa.

In the macabre incident, his body was dismembered and his head cut off for ritual purposes.

The State proved beyond any reasonable doubt that Makore Snr hatched his plan and worked in cahoots with his herd boy Tafadzwa Shamba who was promised ‘Heaven on Earth’.

In his ruling, Mutevedzi said the two murderers “left their bold and luminous footprints on the crime scene”.

Sentence will be read on July 12, he said.

Tapiwa’s head remains missing whilst the other body parts were recovered in November 2020 in Makore’s toilet and DNA tests were positive- in an incident reminscient of Emperor Haile Sellasie.

His headless torso was buried on March 27,2021.

During police investigations his other uncle Thanks Makore and Maud Hunidzarira were considered suspects and we’re thankful to be let off the hook after the pandemonium that occured at his Ruwa house when police conducted the inspection in-loco.

The were however acquitted and their hands are clean in the heinous crime since there was no nexus and evidence to commission of the crime at the close of the State’s case.

  1. Howdy this is kind of of off topic but I was wondering if blogs use WYSIWYG editors or if you have to manually code with HTML. I’m starting a blog soon but have no coding expertise so I wanted to get advice from someone with experience. Any help would be enormously appreciated!
