Govt suspends Rimbi, Kiss Zebra buses operating licences

Harare- GOVERNMENT has suspended the operating licenses of Rimbi and Zebra Kiss buses with immediate effect ,Express Mail Zim can report.

This follows verified video evidence that shows beyond any reasonable doubt that the people behind the wheels displayed negligent driving and drove without due care in complete negation of the Road Traffic Act.

According to Transport minister T Mhona:

“The licences of Rimbi Travel and Tashyllt Investments trading as Kiss Zebra are suspended from operating all their buses and omnibuses in all routes with immediate effect.”

The suspension is in line with provisions of The Road and Motor Transportation Act (13.15)

The fatal accident occurred in Mutoko District along the Harare-Nyamapanda Highway.

Verified circumstances of the principal cause are awash on the webosphere with the Kiss Zebra bus is in front in the video circulating , while the Rimbi bus is in hot pursuit in a movie-style ‘cops and robbers’ speed chase.

This ‘fast and furious’ road race was in a narrow road and the Kiss Zebra bus managed to avoid a white tipper truck that was to be hit by the Rimbi causing loss of one life and injuries.

The conductor who filmed the whole ‘chase’ died.

He was aged 39 and stayed in Malborough.

Mhona warned errand motorists that stern action will be taken against them for exercising wanton neligence on the country’s roads.
