Goromonzi man faces arrest after his dogs maul child to death
Goromonzi- A Goromonzi man is being charged with culpable homicide after his dogs mauled a six year old girl in Dondo village ,Goromonzi .
Joseph Nyamutsamba’s two Boerboel dogs pounced on the girl when she was playing with her friends.
Police confirmed the development in a statement released Thursday.
“ZRP reports a sad incident in which a six year old girl was mauled to death by two vicious Boer dogs whilst playing with friends at Dongo Village, Goromonzi,” read part of the statement.
The dogs were shot dead.
According to a pets website, Boerboel dogs should never be left unsupervised with young children.
“The Boerboel should never be left unsupervised with young children they don’t know well, or strangers.
“It is a very rare circumstance that a Boerboel will bite a person, and it should be said that when this (or any large breed) dog attacks, it can easily tear through muscle, tendons and, in some cases, bone,” wrote the dog expert.
He added that to avoid aggression, the Boerboel should be socialized with many people, children, friends,extended family members and other dogs as a young puppy, as well as throughout their lives.
