Footie star Mwaruwari turns 45, Man City honours him

Manchester- MANCHESTER City celebrated the birthday of their former striker Benjani Mwaruwari Monday with a special throwback video posted on their socials.

Mwaruwari, who turned 45 years Sunday, played for City from 2008 to 2009.

In celebrating his birthday, the Citizens posted a video of Benjani’s debut goal in the Manchester Derby on 10 February 2008 and captioned it:

“Happy Birthday, Benjani. Who could forget this derby day goal!”

Benjani has played for Air Zim Jets (1996-1999) and was spotted by top scout Jomo Sono and played for his team Jomo Cosmos and moved to Auxerre in 2001 after been loaned at Grasshoppers.

It is at Auxerre that he attracted the interests of top teams.

He runs a football academy in Bulawayo and has major investments in property in Europe and South Africa.

His loves his brown bottle in his spare time especially after hanging the boots.
His love life has been kept a closely guarded secret but it is documented that he once had a spat with fellow legend Peter Ndlovu when they clashed over some Harare beau at a local hotel.
